Building was famous destination for rock superstars in the 1960s and '70s. Fell into obscurity, revived by 2013 documentary. Now once again a recording spot for bands, with a gift shop, photo-ops, and tours.

- North edge of the city. From US Hwy 72, about a half-mil south of the Tennessee River, turn west at the stoplight onto Jackson Hwy. Drive a half-mile. You'll see the old-looking studio building on the left, between State and Tennessee Sts, prominently labeled "3614 Jackson Highway."

Great tour and interesting history. Muscle Shoals Sound Studios is home of musical greats -- I had no idea that so many famous musicians recorded here. The tour guide was the wife of one of the house band members.
Admission for adults was $10 and children $5.
