- Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. On the west edge of town, on the north side of Hwy 7. The grave is just inside the cemetery's main entrance, on the right. It's a small stone, flush with the grass, with Roger Peterson's name, dates or birth and death, and an image of the infamous plane.

Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper were being flown on a private plane by 21-year old Roger Peterson, who crashed and succumbed along with his famous passengers on "The Day the Music Died."

Grave is directly on the right patch coming in from the entrance. It will be before you get to the sidewalk towards the middle. On the other side of the sidewalk is a water well. You have gone too far if you're around there. It had flowers when we went.
