Sac-O-Suds is now reopened.
[Joey Harris, 05/29/2021]The same Sac-O-Suds store from the movie My Cousin Vinny also appears in the Netflix series "Rectify" in season 2, episode 8. I recognized the name right away (having seen My Cousin Vinny a dozen times).
[TS, 11/19/2020]Sac-O-Suds still stands, but the store closed in 2019. Rectify filmed there in 2013-14.
The Sac-O-Suds grocery store was the site of the key robbery/murder in the 1992 comedy film, "My Cousin Vinny." The store was closed and fell into disrepair afterward, but it was bought, restored, and reopened in 2014.
Although it now serves primarily as a bait and tackle shop for visitors to nearby recreational areas, the Sac-O-Suds does have several items from the movie, including an original script and a signed poster from the cast. It also has several souvenirs for sale, such as branded cans of tuna (the item stolen from the store in the film) and various shirts for both adults and "yutes" alike.
Additionally, the Jasper County Courthouse, which served as the exterior location for the movie's courtroom scenes, is just a few miles east in downtown Monticello.

The store had closed in January 2019. At the time it was known for selling Sac-O-Suds cans of tuna, just like in the movie. We hope that's been revived as well.
