Boss Bison Ranch

They still have tours to see and feed the bison. They sell bones and hides and meat, of course. They have Native American collectibles in the gift shop. They have a huge pavilion with an eight-foot BBQ pit that can be rented to cook for a party or wedding. We went to a festival yesterday and the animals came right up to the gate and we got to feed them. We had amazing Tatanka Stew and bison bratwurst cooked on the pit. Yum! We will be back for their Pow Wow on Father's Day weekend.

Boss Bison Ranch

A ranch with about 180 acres and 60 bison. A gift shop sells bison meat and a lunch wagon serves everything bison. We enjoyed watching the herd graze as we ate. There were bulls mixed with the mothers and calves. We loaded in the back of the farm truck and were driven out to meet the head bull. Big Boy was tall and very muscular. His head was huge, yet he was the gentlest of giants. He took his treats carefully from my children and me. We met other bison, Bobby and Snitch, and asked what we owed for meeting the animals. We were told "just a donation in the box." That's what we did.
