Edgerton, Kansas: Failed Marriage, Chopped Car (Gone)
Front half of a 1987 car sat beside a highway with a large sign: "Divorced: She Got 1/2." Town council did not find it funny, ordered its removal in early 2018. Oddly, the man who created it never divorced.

For years the front half of an old Chevrolet Citation has been sitting at the east end of Edgerton on Highway 56. I don't know the entire story behind it, but from reading the "Divorced" sign on the car you can probably guess what happened.

The city council said the car's removal was "citizen initiated," but dozens of townspeople showed up in protest. The car has been moved into the old garage near its long-time spot, with the hope that it can later find a permanent home at the local lake or in the local museum.
