This was the fountain that stood in the middle of Red Devil Lake (The red devil on the "Go to Church" sign that overlooks I-65 a few miles north of here came from the same place). Red Devil Lake was an amusement park.

Strange domed building stands in a parking lot on Hwy 31, near McQueen Smith intersection in Prattville, Alabama. No idea what or why, but it's there, so I stopped to see it.

Definitely run down. No steps at all. Looks like it possibly was a huge fountain of some sort at one point in its life.

I wouldn't go out of my way to see it, but if you're driving past, it's worth a stop for pics. If you're looking for a place to picnic or stretch your legs nearby, it's across from the road that leads to Cooter Pond -- a pretty city park on the river with restrooms, picnic areas and good fishing floating docks.

Strange dome building indeed! It sits next to the highway by several dilapidated buildings (one is an old music hall). Stairs are broken down and the inside is full of water and some kind of plumbing.
