The Tuba Mecca. As a second generation tuba player this was a must-see. Vincent Simonetti is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, and every tuba tells a story. This in-depth 90-minute tour was perfect for me, but may be too intense for non-band geeks. The 300+ instruments showcase every size and variation in the tuba family, beginning with a vintage 1830 Serpent. The collection is an outgrowth of Vincent's years as a professional tuba player with the North Carolina Symphony, and as former proprietor of the Tuba Exchange business.
The V & E Simonetti Collection is open for viewing to the public by appointment only (at least 24 hrs in advance), every Tuesday and Thursday 3pm -6pm.
