There's a little museum at Delaware Technical Community College called "Treasures Of The Sea." It houses the treasure that was found along with the wreck of the em>Nuestra Senora de Atocha, a Spanish ship that sunk in the Florida Keys in 1622. The wreck and treasure were found by Mel Fisher in July of 1985. There was a long legal battle with the state of Florida, but Mel was finally granted the right to sell the artifacts, and Delaware Technical Community College was the highest bidder. The treasure consists of gold coins, cannons, jewelry, silver bars, and much more.
