A large obelisk marks the birthplace of the first and only president of the Confederate States of America. It takes a while to find it off of the interstate, but you'll see the tall obelisk way before you get to the park. There is an elevator to ride to the top.

Really huge in middle of nowhere. Museum and gift shop now open only on Friday, Sat and Sun. No bathrooms when center closed.
[Heather, 07/20/2013]After a 3+ million dollar renovation of the 351-foot tall monument, the park is open to all visitors. In the renovation the elevator was repaired and is now handicap accessible. Also a beautiful visitor center and museum was added to walk you through the life of the only President the Confederate States ever knew.
[Kahle Morris Jr, 01/03/2009]Officially, Davis was born in Todd County. I should know -- my high school was almost named for him for that reason! It used to have an elevator, but has been under restoration, so don't know for sure.
Location: US Highway 68, Fairview Kentucky, between Elkton and Hopkinsville.
