Spent 2-3 hours here. Hiked the mile hike around the rim and walked .2 miles to the vent. My 12 and 17 year old give it 5 stars, and completed the junior park ranger book.

The three mile detour from the main highway is worth a trip to check out this interesting natural feature.

Was a great hike around the rim - amazing views. Look for the hordes of lady bugs eating the aphids!

Still $20 per car (or free with National Parks Pass) and well worth the drive to the top for the spectacular view. Be sure to call ahead for potential closings due to inclement weather or unscheduled construction.

Beautiful views from the volcano, 30 minute hike around rim, steam at points, but worth it! $20 per vehicle now
