[Stef, 05/24/2017]Giant Statue, End of WWII Kiss
Remember the photograph of the sailor kissing the nurse to celebrate the end of World War II? It's been re-created in a big way, as a 25-foot-tall statue. The statue is one of four by artist Seward Johnson. I've read that this placement [in Royal Oak, Michigan] is temporary, to raise funds for the Michigan World War II Legacy Memorial.

Temporary installation [in Royal Oak, Michigan] on display until December 2016. Parking available at nearby Walgreens. Do not park in lot beside statue, it will block the fire lane and the firemen will make you move, or tow your car. It's a great stop!
