Pioneer Dugout Replica

This replica pioneer dugout and "homestead" shows what early settlers built to survive in the wind-blown, hot, dry prairie. There is a windmill and water trough and a small interpretive sign. The kids will be amazed that families ever lived this way!

[Bill Basco, 07/07/2016]

The pioneers were just following the example set by prairie dogs and rattlesnakes. It's cool underground.
