Created by artist Dale Lewis from hundreds of pieces of stainless steel. Originally a temporary artwork, the town voted to make him a permanent resident in 2016. Unofficial name: "Kato-Zilla."

The 500-pound, 10-foot-tall steel Godzilla, by artist Dale Lewis, arrived in 2015 as part of a temporary art installation -- but the town liked him so much that it voted to keep him permanently. He stands at the entrance to North Mankato, where many see him protecting the town from being incorporated into Mankato. His unofficial name is "Kato-Zilla."
