After Mary Points died in 1852 in a fire mishap, her husband ordered a gravestone carving of the incendiary moment, her skirts consumed by flames.

- Old Aberdeen Cemetery. Entrance is on the north side of Whitfield St., just east of its intersection with S. Poplar St. Park on the shoulder; it's a walk-in-only entrance. You'll see the Whitfield fenced-in crypt straight ahead. Look for Marker 21.

She can be found at marker #21, to the right of the cemetery entrance. However, as of December 2019, the stone has tipped over, with the image of her facing down so you can't see it or the inscription.
