Always good to preserve history, so we and future generations can see it first-hand. They made the station into a nice bar.

We were in Punta Gorda for the day so I looked this up. It's a tricky intersection, so be careful. Parking is in the rear. There's an "Antique" shop that you enter in the back where you park. The train station looks good for its age. The doors are located on the road side and are still clearly marked.
[Barbara, 01/29/2019]Built in 1928 during segregation, the Punta Gorda Train Depot had both colored and white waiting rooms. Today it operates as an Antique Mall and includes a small railroad-related museum in the former Stationmaster's office. Separate ticket windows, waiting rooms, and bathrooms reflect the segregation practiced at that time. The white waiting room has artifacts from old Punta Gorda and the colored waiting room has a display on education reform.
