The mastodon is not available right now. It's in storage while some of the campus layout is redesigned. From what I hear, where and when it will be displayed again has not yet been decided.

As part of Indiana-Purdue-Fort-Wayne's 40th anniversary as a university, a large metal mastodon was erected on campus (The mastodon is the mascot of the school's athletic teams). It is life-size, 11 feet tall and nearly 18 feet long, and was designed by James Farlow, the university's expert on archaeology. There are also many other interesting sculptures on campus if you have the time to explore.
