There's a statue of a man feeding pigs on Leesburg Pike in Falls Church. It was put up by the Beyers, who owned the Volvo dealership, and they say it's paying homage to the family, which used to raise hogs at Springhill Farm in McLean.

A statue made of wood and dipped in aluminum of a man slopping (feeding) four pigs sits on the very busy West Broad Street (VA Route 7) next to Don Beyer Volvo. An unusual site to see on a city street corner.
[Lisa V, 09/15/2016]Despite its proximity to Washington, DC, the statue is not suggesting special interests hogging the government money trough. It's a tribute to the Beyer family, who once raised pigs in the area, and stands on the property of the family's Volvo dealership.

The statue was unveiled on May 6, 1984, and was supposedly concocted during a late night family meeting over a bottle of whiskey. It was sculpted by Richard Beyer, who also created a statue of a fish with breasts.
