Golden Spike Tower - Plans Stalled?

If you plan on driving to North Platte, Nebraska to check out the proposed Golden Spike Tower, heed these words: IT AIN'T THERE! My family and I drove to the proposed location on the way to visiting the home of William Cody (Buffalo Bill)and it was nowhere to be found. NO tower, no construction, no workers not even any signage indicating such a monument would soon appear on the landscape. So, there is one less entry in the Transcontinental Railway controversy.
