Incredibly well sculpted statues.
[Christine Lillesand, 03/06/2018]
The statues and accompanying cultural center are at the top of a very steep hill and commemorate the 1956 integration of the public school. The monument itself is very nicely done and there was a museum behind the statues set in an old blacks-only school. We almost did not go to the museum because there is no signage out front indicating that it's open or it even exists. The museum's hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM. There was a short seven minute video and a modest exhibit hall. Worth the trip to see how far our country has come, and how far we still have to go.
