Hundreds of colorful birdhouses along a tree line just off Lake Champlain. They've been here since 1996, built to attract swallows to eat Vermont's merciless mosquitoes.

- South of town. On the north side of W. Shore Rd just east of its intersection with Lake View Rd. A small boardwalk leads from the road into the birdhouse trees. There's a small parking area just east of the boardwalk. Private property - visible from highway.

We found this a very interesting detour from the main road. Building all the houses must have taken years!

While driving along West Shore Road in South Hero we came upon hundreds of colorful bird houses, with two small dinosaurs, in the woods along Lake Champlain.
