Pembroke, Maine: Reversing Falls

A view where the crazy Cobscook Bay tide comes in, colliding with other tides and causing water to run backward and whirlpool at Cobscook Falls. Eagles and seals make quick work of unprepared fish, though we can't promise you'll see that.

Reversing falls.

Reversing Falls

You can drive pretty close to the reversing falls (mostly down a dirt road). Then it's a short walk down the trail to see them. The trail is a little steep and rocky, but doable if you have sneakers.

[Jessica Tynan, 07/14/2018]

There are other reversing falls in Maine, but this is the only named state park.
