Metal replicas of nine donated interior domestic chairs sit on a busy public sidewalk at a streetcar stop, juxtaposing personal and public spaces. They were installed as the public art component of a 2012 intersection improvement project. Neighbors wanted more places to sit, so this was the perfect art project. Its spirit brings local residents and commuters together. It was selected by Americans for the Arts as one of the best public art pieces in the US in 2013. Please take (but do not remove) a seat while you wait for your streetcar.
