Relic of the deadliest industrial accident in U.S. history. The High Flyer was one of the cargo ships that blew up in Texas City's harbor in 1947; its battered propeller was placed here 40 years later.

Visited this yesterday. I didn't get a picture of the secondary plaque, but it's pretty clear that this was found by a salvage company in the early 1980s and erected as a monument in 1987. It was definitely not blown into the air.
