This Muffler Man is no longer there. He ran off to an attraction in Oklahoma City. Talking to the proprietor of the Hi-Way Cafe in Vanita, she said that she tried to bid on him but got outbid; they have the new Mobile Oil one instead!

The hatless Muffler Man holds a metal rod in his hands. Not quite as obvious from the road as the Cowboy Muffler Man, but near it. You go to the next driveway and sort of drive in the middle of the buildings to see it.

A Muffler Man stands at Copeland Switch Antique Shop just north of town. He was originally a Phillips 66 Cowboy and was shipped from International Fiberglass to Georgia. He toured Georgia during the promotion and was retired at a local muffler shop in Savannah when Phillips 66 ended the program. The muffler shop was purchased in 1978 and turned into a car wash, but the new owners did not want the Muffler Man, so he was taken down and hauled up to Cameron, SC.
The Muffler Man was stored on his back in the woods for 37 years until his owners heard about the sale of the Stamper Miner in Rapid City and decided to sell him. The hatless cowboy was sold in late 2015 and moved here.
