The Jimmy Carter Peanut is looking pretty good. These days he sits outside the convenience store, right in front of an RV park.

Dropped by here on a road trip to Orlando and the Peanut still looks great. The bench has been removed, making it easier to pose near it for pictures. The owner of the Quickie Mart seems very proud of the Peanut. He says Jimmy passes by there every Sunday on his way to church but looks at the house across the street because he hates that thing. He's asked the owner several times to take it down, but considering that we put $50 in our tank after coming to see it, I don't see that happening.

Still looking great. I had to ask where this was located. I found it in the front of a gas station. It has moved locations a few times since the '70s. I was able to buy a fridge magnet and postcard of the smiling peanut at one of the tourist shops on W Main St.

We stopped by Plains in early August 2006 and found the Jimmy Carter Peanut in great condition. All of the damage has been repaired and it has been newly repainted. Currently, it's located in front of a store that is for sale, so who knows what the future may bring? The toothy grin is very bright, indeed!
