Springfield, Illinois: Mahan's Gas Station
Tiny, rustic service station, opened in 1917 in Middletown. In 2000 it was moved to Springfield as the centerpiece of Shea's Route 66 Gas Station Museum. After Shea died in 2013, the station was moved here in 2016.

- North edge of the city. On the south side of E. Sangamon Ave. just west of its intersection with N. Peoria Rd. It's small and set back from the road, between the chiropractor and the pizzeria.

Fulgenzis Restaurant, next door, features Route 66 memorabilia. It's right down the street from the Illinois State Fairgrounds and the giant Abe Lincoln statue.
