Gnome Mountain

Gnome Mountain is a public art installation by artist Sam Tufnell. The gnomes used to be lit at night and look like they are still wired to be lit, but I visited during the day so I can't confirm that. Park in the High Falls Deli parking lot at 10 Old Rte 213 and you can safely see the gnomes, instead of pulling over to the side of the road.

Very cool. Wish I could have stopped at night, as the gnomes are lighted. The mountain is right at the onset of a little town next to a deli. I initially drove past it, but quickly found it when I turned around.

I'm still into all of the amazing things Roadside America has led me to. I mean, look at this. A giant rock with a bunch of gnomes on it. How cool is that!

A cliff overlooking the small town of High Falls is covered in brightly colored gnomes. Gnome Mountain is an installation by local artist Sam Tufnell. The gnomes are best viewed at night, when they light up.

[Dominic Ryan, 07/23/2017]

Tufnell cast 13 "power gnomes" out of colorful clear resin, then bolted them to the craggy cliff. Tiny spotlights make them glow at night.
