Paul Bunyan Muffler Man at the House of Doors.

Muffler Man - Bunyan

As of 6/9/2012 this Muffler Man is standing tall and looks in great condition! He looks freshly painted and had his American flag in hand.

Christmas in Cheshire.

Muffler Men

Paul Bunyan was displaying holiday spirit when I paid my hometown muffler man a visit over the holidays. A wreath was hanging from his usual flagpole that he carries (he is designated as a flagpole to circumvent Cheshire's height ordinance). I learned he had a paint job recently. This one is always in excellent condition!

Muffler Man

I can happily report that in July of 2009 the Cheshire, Conn. Muffler Man is in outstanding condition. Looks like he has been refurbished to like-new condition. His stellar appearance is in rather stark contrast to the dilapidated house he stands in front of. He was also not holding a flag, so either the town has lightened up on their ordinance or the owners are flaunting the law.

Muffler Man

It is with great sadness I report that the Cheshire Muffler Man that stood at the House of Doors is nuttin' but legs now.

[Rachael K, 09/19/2007]

Tipster Andrew Martelli reports: "The Muffler Man Flagpole was dismantled to be renovated. It has since been resurrected after being repainted. Paul looks like new!"

Muffler Man

His torso has fallen off, and now he is just legs.
