Barney is such a delightful person. It was great chatting with him and learning about pieces of history that didn't get flushed away.

You have to stop by and meet Barney Smith and see his toilet seat collection. What an amazing person. I loved his collection and his tour. He answered questions and told us lots of stories about his toilet seat art.

Barney Smith just might be the most adorable old man ever. Skip the Alamo -- this is where the real heart of San Antonio lives. I literally could have stayed and listened to Barney Smith talk all day long. He is so proud of his little talk show video that he asks you to watch. And I hope that you geocache or letterbox, because he will tell you how he became part of those communities and insist that you check in. He will tell you about any toilet seat that you look at, and each of them come with such a fantastic story.

Had a lovely visit with Barney Smith. Signed my Tennessee license plate and his state guest book. I found him to be warm, funny, and charming. I could have visited all day, but he was working on a 15th year Pooch Parade seat. He wanted RoadsideAmerica.com to know that he will be 92 in May and that he has completed 1,062 toilet seats. My favorite seat was the Wizard of Oz; his favorite is, "When Earth's Last Picture is Painted." I recommend this stop for everyone.

We were in San Antonio and decided to check it out. We were not disappointed! Barney Smith has hundreds of toilet seats. He can tell you about each and every one of them. We even were able to sign our names in our "state" and he was going to etch it into the seat. Good roadside attraction!
