This is a wonderful way to learn and experience the mining industry in Lead, from the first mine until the mines closed. Includes replicas of gear, and guides whose families worked the mines. Great!

The museum has a decent collection of artifacts from the place and the era. I took a tour of the simulated gold mine. It was very interesting and had lots of information. Homestake mine was funded by one of the elder Gettys and produced a huge amount of gold and a lot of money for the investors.
