James K. Polk never got anywhere near Minnesota in his brief lifetime; nevertheless, the state has given the 11th U.S. President a modest monument.

- From downtown Climax drive west on W. Broadway/Hwy 220 for 1.5 miles. Bear left onto Hwy 7. You'll quickly see the memorial on the right, with its little pull-off.

Memorial to the 11th U.S. President on the side of the road. Very random with just a dirt pull-off, but very cool to see. The weather vane on top is what really caught my eye, since there was essentially with nothing but a corn field and grass in the area. I just wondered why there was a weather vane in the middle of nowhere with a small dirt turnoff on the side of the road.
