A 35-foot-tall sculpture by Lloyd Hamrol, installed in 1986, shows six two-dimensional cars (yellow, green, blue, black, white, red) sitting on top of a concrete "u" on a traffic island in the middle of Downtown LA's 4th St. Each cars is one-ton in weight and seven feet high. Designed by the artist as a piece of an "endless loop" of cars in Los Angeles. Are the cars speeding along or sitting in traffic? In the eye of the beholder perhaps.
