Bada Bing - Tony Soprano's Strip Club

We visited Satin Dolls in 2002 and first reported on it then, back when HBO's series The Sopranos was at the height of its water cooler discussion power. Satin Dolls was a go-go club used as the filming location for the fictional mob-owned Bada Bing club, where the ladies danced with naked abandon and anyone might get whacked behind a dumpster.

The club became a pop culture landmark, though perhaps not for family outings. Fans could pop in and head straight to the Bada Bing merchandise display without paying the 2-drink minimum or losing a wad of 1 dollar bills in a magical thong.

The souvenirs were a mix of official HBO Sopranos items and custom Satin-Dolls-is-Bada-Bing keepsakes. It was hard to exit without procuring private label Bada Bing vino, a hat, and a thong (no magic guaranteed).

In December 2017 -- and entirely unrelated to its Sopranos connection -- the NJ attorney general ordered that Satin Dolls cease its live entertainment by Dec. 17 and transfer or sell its liquor license for alleged violations of state laws.
