Defiant Penis Murals

I went to visit this attraction on Feb. 4, 2018, and it was covered up with white paint. :/

As of late January the murals were still visible, but the owner told the local newspaper he would remove them if the town Building Dept. played "fair." Evidently that condition was quickly met.

Defiant Penis Murals

Roland Burns is a property owner who was told by the city building inspector to repaint the peeling exterior walls of one of his office buildings. Burns, who for years has had a rocky relationship with Canton building and code enforcement officials, asked Assistant Law Director Jason Reese what type of painting he needed to do to be in compliance. Reese told him he didn't care if Burns painted penises on his building (Burns said he has a recording of the statement; Reese denied making such a comment). So Burns had a side wall painted with a bat-winged penis emerging from an egg, and the back wall with a Medusa with male genitalia for hair instead of the traditional snakes.

It's not certain how long the murals will remain before the city makes a decision about them, so if you are in the area, see them now before they disappear.
