Sequoyah built this cabin, his last home, in 1829. In 1936 a small museum was built around it.

The museum was built around the cabin in 1936 by the WPA. Sequoyah built the cabin himself in 1829. It was his last home, but he died no-one-knows-where, on a trip to find a rumored band of Cherokee in Mexico. October 2019: Photo added.
