The totem pole, which was colorful when new, was carved in the early 1970s by Richard and Mike Bordwell. At the time it stood in front of the Landmark restaurant, next to a cowboy Muffler Man named "Phil," and had an elaborate plaque explaining what it meant. The restaurant, Phil, and the plaque are long gone, but the totem pole remains.
