The restaurant at the end of the pier is permanently closed, however a sign indicates a new restaurant concept is coming. The souvenir/bait shop does a brisk business for all the fishermen on the pier. No license required.

At 1,954 feet from end to end, Oceanside Pier is one of the longest on the west coast. It was first built in 1888 at what is now Wisconsin Avenue, but was destroyed by storms in the winter of 1890. The current Pier was dedicated on July 4, 1927.
