Shopping Center Tomb of Miss Dynamite

I was so excited to have finally found this location; but was heartbroken to see that the sign with Miss Dynamite was mostly gone. I did get to read the top slab of her tomb and marvel at the glory it would have been to have known this magnificent pooch.

The Miss Dynamite sign is smashed and the grave is about covered with a different sign for a hair salon.

"Kentucky's Canine Celebrity" was known for her sweet disposition, but she would probably bite those who've defiled her grave.

Shopping Center Tomb of Miss Dynamite

Interesting roadside find. The tomb is self-explained, with Miss Dynamite's bio engraved onto the top of it. At the top of the shopping center sign is a portrait of Miss Dynamite herself! We were lucky enough to have a helpful local give us the full story of her life and just how important this pup was.

Shopping Center Owned by a Dog

Miss Dynamite was a remarkable dog. She had her own checking account, stayed in only the fanciest motels, and enjoyed letters from prominent figures of the day. Visit the shopping center she owned!

Miss Dynamite, a half-terrier, half-chihuahua, received fan mail from Presidents and astronauts. When she died in 1973 her owner had her embalmed and placed in an above-ground crypt directly beneath the sign for her shopping center, which she legally owned. The sign, the crypt, and the shopping center are still there.
