1940 Air Terminal Museum

Retired 1940 art-deco airport terminal served Houston air travelers during the golden age of flight. The ground floor museum is dedicated to the terminal's past use and displays of air travel memorabilia and photos documenting its rich past. The museum is within the boundary of Hobby Airport and includes a tour of adjacent hangers as well as several donated aircraft permanently on display. I visited in Nov. 2017 and the place was empty but incredible! I saw the 1940s restored ground floor and got a backstage tour of areas under renovation including the control tower(!) and all of their aircraft and memorabilia piles. If you have any interest in aircraft, our aviation past, and/or art-deco architecture, don't miss visiting this museum.
