Mountain Man Statue

This may have been taken down - we drove by the trading post and didn't see a mountain man or bear.

Mountain Man Statue

"Daniel Boone" Type Mountain Man and Bear stand at Gokeys Trading Post in North Hudson. This used to be in an old Lake George area/North Hudson attraction called Frontier Town. These two fiberglass figures are now right down the road from where the "closed" Frontier Town still stands. Gokeys has a western town appearance and is a neat little store, auction house, and more.

Abandoned Davey Crockett.

Davey Crockett at abandoned Frontier Town

Although Frontier Town has been abandoned, this lone Davey Crockett stands proud over the empty parking lot. Route 9 along the eastern edge of the Adirondacks was once a tourist highway with many roadside attractions.

Across the way from this statue is a quirky old west town - petting zoo - auction house that is still in operation and busy in the summer.
