The spelling on the church sign has been partially corrected. It now reads: "CHURCH DOOR CLOSE DUE TO RAPTURE SINNERS YOU'RE TO LATE" (If you look closely you can see where fresh paint was applied to change the spelling). The sign now makes a bit more sense, but it's still interesting and quaint.
By the way, the crude-looking headstones next to the church are real graves. If you walk around them, there are old stone vaults in the ground with the names and dates of the deceased. The newer stones were cast in cement, hand-carved, and painted, apparently to make them more visible to passersby.

There's a miniature church (maybe eight feet tall at the tip of the cross) along with some tombstones in a cotton field outside of Oak City. I couldn't get the door open and see the inside, because, as the sign says, "CHURCH DOOD CLOSE DUE TO RARTURE."
