The Lindbergh Crate (used to ship the Spirit of St. Louis back from Paris) after Charles Lindbergh's transatlantic flight was moved in Summer 2024 from Canaan to Columbia Falls and now sits on top of a mountain. Also here are memorials to many military veterans, and this was also the proposed site (now cancelled) for the largest flagpole on earth (1,461 feet high; slightly taller than the Empire State Building). Very isolated spot in the Downeast Maine woods.
