This sign is of a large, seated pink elephant, and on its head is balanced a large circular sign with the name of a now-closed restaurant printed on it ("Shorty's"). The circular sign is reminiscent of the large round stools used by circus elephants during their performances. The elephant sign predates the restaurant and was originally used to advertise a car dealership in the 1950s at this location. The property is for sale and the fate of the elephant sign is unknown. Hope the new owners will keep it.
