This log is part of a giant redwood that drifted onto the beach at Crescent City, California, during a 1964 flood. It is close to 1,500 years old and was cut from the redwood, the largest piece of driftwood ever collected. It was presented to the city of Winnemucca as a marker for the start of the Winnemucca to the Sea Highway, and is now displayed near the visitors' center.
