I had a great time staying at the Vashon Island Hostel -- I slept in a covered wagon! You could also sleep in a teepee! You could catch a ferry to Seattle - beautiful ride across Puget Sound - snow-capped mountains in background. The hostess back in 1998 would pick you up from the ferry. Very relaxing and only about 30 mins from Seattle. Email them from Seattle to be sure of a bed. Price was lower than Seattle. I stayed over there while going to the Pacific Northwest Folklife Festival on Memorial Weekend (May).
