First named Noell's Ark, then Mae Noell's Chimp Farm -- we visited and wrote about it in the 1990s (today it's a non-touristy retirement home for gorillas, orangutans and chimps called Suncoast Primate Sanctuary).

Although the Chimp Farm was under renovations for awhile, it is still operational, now as Suncoast Primate Sanctuary. I drive past it every day.
[Dana Duffy, 07/23/2005]This is an interesting side note to the Chimp Farm, recalled from childhood. In the late '60s and early '70s, my grandparents lived just down the road from the Farm. It was Christmas, and we were opening presents when my Father exclaimed, "Look out the window!"
We looked, and there were monkeys everywhere. They were on the telephone poles, running on the lines, and on the ground. Apparently, there had been a "jailbreak", and the monkeys were having a ball!
[Lee Breeze, 06/16/2002]The Chimp Farm, Tarpon Springs, FL, is reported closed. The Farm failed an inspection by the USDA and lost its license on March 20th....
