- Morton Arboretum. From IL-56/Butterfield Rd turn south at the stoplight onto Il-53. Drive 1.5 miles. At the stoplight, turn left on Ginkgo Way into the Arboretum. Pick up a Troll Hunt Map at the Visitor Center for driving directions to all of the trolls.

One is 30 feet tall. One crushes cars. One eats people. Junk wood trolls hide in the forest of the Morton Arboretum. Made of wood, the Trolls lasted three years, and were removed in Feb. 2021.

Trolls are still lurking in the fall foliage!

A towering wooden troll, "Joe The Guardian," overlooks the I-88 westbound lanes. Other, non-permanent trolls by the same artist are on display on the grounds of the Morton Arboretum. You can pull off and take a picture of this one without having to pay the fee to get in.
