Tom Moran's big sturgeon welcomes folks to the town of Indian River, which celebrates this enduring dinosaur fish. The Odawa and Ojibwe join their ancestors in honoring the lake sturgeon as Nme or Grandfather Fish. For them it is a clan symbol expressing wisdom, providing food, and marking the changing seasons.
