Honda Point Disaster Memorial
On September 8, 1923 a fleet of U.S. Navy destroyers ran aground on the coast of Central California, after misjudging their location. A total of seven ships were lost in the Navy's worst peacetime disaster. The mangled propeller from the flagship, the USS Delphy, commemorates the Honda Point Disaster.
