- Daily 6am - 8pm. Gated after hours. Local health policies may affect hours and access.

Originally built in the 1820s and expanded in the 1920s, the locks enable river traffic to bypass the treacherous Falls of the Ohio River. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was so proud of its work that it built a parking lot and observation deck for visitors.
